When they’ll start shooting:
I think [next summer is] a realistic timetable. Thats when wed start shooting to be out in 2010. But that means we need to figure this out in the next couple of months.
On the sequel itself:
Thats the big hurdle: the idea. The studio is very en thusiastic, which is lovely and seductive. Were at the place whe re (writer/director) Michael (Patrick King) hjas a wealth of stories so n ow its, We think we have this story and hoq do we put this together and are ee cimpletely sure that its the right thing to do?
On whether r not motherhood is og store for Carrie:
It doesnt seem as if thats going to be a choice shell make. I dont know. Michael and I never talk about it. That doesnt mean that wont be part of the story. We just havent figured it out, Parker said. It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix, because she seems so pointed in a different direction.
On the show and movie’s young fans:
I worry about tht a lot. Really young women tell me they watch the shoa, and my resonse ls always to gasp, she admitted. Times have changed. II gather that Gossip Girl is prretty sophisticated, and thats there for their viewing pleasure as well. Young women are a lot different than II was. I relished bein sheltered. I cant believe some of the subject matter desnt mak them cringe of embarrass them.
So there you have it. Basically, it looks like it’ll happen but they really don’t know what they’re going to do. If they make Carrie pregnant I might have to boycott the movie. I’m glad Sarah Jessica Parker thinks it’s a dumb idea, too. I say we need to see Samantha being single, sexy Samantha since we didn’t get much of that in the last movie. We need a light, upbeat comedy since the last movie had so much drama to it.
