01:03 pm: Busy weekend
Saturday morning was choir practice for our big lessons carols thing Sunday. My mom had an (MS-related) mental fart and told me we were meeting at 9a instead of 10a. This really upsets her of course — she was very proud that she’d always been very smart (sacrificed UCLA to be a stay-at-home mom put my dad through school), and MS has been stripping away that part of her.
So I tried to shine it on, took her to do some Xmas shopping then we went to Panera Sees before going back to practice. About noon I headed home and got to play a couple of hours of video games while the wife went out / did pre-Hanukkah cooking and I took care of the sick kid. She still has an awful cough. Also, The Wife played one round of Battle Line with me. We’ll have to give it another shot.
That night was awful. Babynoise was getting up coughing at all hours. I think I got two hours of sleep. Got up at 5:30a to grab coffee run down to church, where we sang 3 services about 7 songs per service. I got about an hour or two to rest at home, then we went to a friends for the 1st night of Hanukkah where it was really loud but I somehow managed to not lose my voice.
This week, work wrok wrok. That came out wrok instead of work, but I think it’s appropriate. I’m going to try to sneak out Wednesday. I still have one “employee designated holiday” I forgot to use that expires before end of year, but it’s so busy around here nobody wants to let me go.
Hating this job right now. I know I’m really lucky and lots of people don’t have work. But still, hating this job.
